Title David's future looks bright Degree of recognition National Media name/outlet BackTrack Media type Print Duration/Length/Size Page 18 Country/Territory United Kingdom Date 13/06/15 Description ‘Future Olympic medallist’, this phrase seems to be the general consensus used by coaches and track and field experts when discussing a young, welsh 110m hurdler. David Omoregie.
David has had an incredible year, not only collecting a bronze at the World Junior Championships in Oregon back in June (his first major event) but also picking up accolades including the Ron Jewkes Award and the British Athletics Writers Award for Junior Male Athlete of the Year.
When qualifying for the semi-final in Oregon, David actually achieved a PB and ran the 3rd fastest time in the championship’s history, 13.24 seconds. This led to comparisons to former World Record holder and welsh legend Colin Jackson. David elegantly responded by saying “It’s really cool to be compared to Colin but I’m young and want to create my own career and legacy”.Producer/Author British Athletics Supporters Club URL https://issuu.com/basclub/docs/backtrack_winter_2015 Persons Ryan Williams
