Title Scott Bros seeking entry to carbon credit market Degree of recognition International Media name/outlet AggNET Media type Web Country/Territory United Kingdom Date 13/12/24 Description Company joins Teesside University on AI quest to access £200 million carbon credit market
RECYCLING experts Scott Bros are seeking to enter a carbon credit market worth £200 million using artificial soil developed from waste products. The family-run company has joined forces with Teesside University through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), partially funded by Innovate UK, to explore how remote technology can be optimally used to monitor its effectiveness in capturing and storing atmospheric carbon dioxide.
Establishing a reliable method of measuring the carbon capture abilities of the materials – a combination of natural clay, construction by-products, and green waste – will allow the firm to generate an income from carbon sequestration. Businesses and organizations buy credits that represent the reduction or removal of one tonne of carbon dioxide or its equivalent, either by those required to meet regulatory emission targets, or those wishing to voluntarily offset their carbon footprint.URL https://www.agg-net.com/news/scott-bros-seeking-entry-to-carbon-credit-market Persons Sina Rezaei Gomari, David Hughes
