Personal profile

Academic Biography

I am a concept and 2D artist with a passion for character design and children's media. I was employed as a 2D artist by multinational California based mobile games company, Plumzi, where I created concept art as well as different mobile game assets and animation for a variety of IPs such as Tom & Jerry, Dora the Explorer, Adventure Time and Carebears. I also worked on a variety of marketing materials, from app trailers to social media promotional materials. I have also successfully collaborated on various freelance projects throughout the years.

I am interested in children's media, specifically children's book illustration and animation. I enjoy experimenting with both digital and traditional art, and I'm always trying to further my skills in the various facets of concept art.

Research Projects & External Funding

Most recently, I have contributed to the Reimagining Regional Policy through Creative Engagement project led by Fatehrad, A. (PI). Reimagining Regional Policy through Creative Engagement is an interdisciplinary knowledge exchange initiative designed to advance place-based policymaking through participatory arts and humanities methodologies. In partnership with the Darlington Economic Campus (DEC)— engaging policymakers in reflective, practice-led sessions focused on regional identity, cultural heritage, and inclusive public service innovation. By fostering deeper understanding of local narratives and lived experience, the initiative aims to influence policy design, support evidence-informed governance, and contribute to long-term strategies for socio-economic resilience and community empowerment in the North East.

As part of this project, I worked with my colleague, Nikos Gaitanopoulos, on a short animated video titled 'The north Blooms', within which we explore lived experience as part of the community in the North East of England. The idea of making a project about the North as two people that are not from the UK but have lived here long enough to call it some sort of home was complicated for us. We perceive the North as both a place where we have been welcomed in, embraced in the small communities that we interact with and does not cease to amaze us, and at the same time it’s a place of many issues some of which we interact with directly, such as poverty, racism and abandonment. We were initially tempted to explore the dichotomy and how it still gives birth to communities that make the North a better place. The people that appear in the animation are all based on people we know and have interacted with, people that make us feel welcome, people that are parts of the same northern communities that help improve the area. The facts that we have gathered were only a few examples of positive communal output in the North.
