Academic Biography

Andy has a background in physics, electronics, instrumentation and computing. He has been involved with forensic science provision at Teesside from its origins in 1992.

Throughout this time he has been the admissions tutor for all the forensic and crime scene courses and has been heavily involved in schools and colleges' liaison.

He has acted as a consultant in the field of lasers and optics. Andy has taught basic physics, electronics, computer programming, control, analytical instrumentation, optics/imaging and image processing.

On the forensic courses he teaches collision investigation, optical instrumentation/microscopy/spectroscopy, digital imaging and questioned document analysis.

Andy's research interests have centred on the use of image processing techniques for industrial measurement and control.
