I have a BSc (Hons) in Applied Sport Science, Merit in my MSc in Sport and Exercise Science and a Pass in the PGCE qualification (all at Teesside University). I have started my PhD (Oct 2019), titled; Investigating the Sedentary Lifestyles of the Tees Valley which will be completed by the end of October 2023.

Alongside this I am an active researcher into Image and Performance Enhancing Drugs and Esports.

I was the former Chair of the Postgraduate Society at Teesside University from June 2019 until 2021. My long term goal is to become a Sport Science and/or Public Health Lecturer. I am also keen to contribute to academia via continued research in a quest for new knowledge.

My passion is for Sport Science which has led to additional interests incorporating Sports Psychology, Body Dysmorphia, AAS, Esports, IPEDs, Doping and Strength and Conditioning. Within these respective fields, I have a passion for Strength Training, Fitness Testing, Periodisation and Tapering. I write for numerous websites across the UK and Ireland including my own blog Strength is Never a Weakness.

In addition, I also have a strong passion for learning and teaching. In the last few years studying and working at Teesside University. I have also taught within the Sport and Exercise department as part of my PGCE placement. It stretched my learning and skill set which I am very grateful for. I enjoy helping students progress their own leanrign and relish the opportunity to do it again. 

I was the President Activities at Teesside University Students' Union from July 1st 2018 - July 1st 2019.
