Dr. Angela Ujunwa is an academic and professionally qualified Chartered Accountant with over a decade of experience in teaching, research, and industry practice across accounting and finance. She is a Fellow Chartered Accountant (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and has held teaching and research roles within higher education institutions in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. Prior to her current academic role at Teesside International Business School (TIUBS), she lectured in Accounting and Finance at the Elizabeth School of London, Manchester Campus, and previously served in the Department of Banking and Finance at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where she advanced to the position of Senior Lecturer. Her work combines academic scholarship with practical industry knowledge in accounting, financial and sustainability reporting, and corporate governance.

Dr. Angela Ujunwa’s research interests focus on sustainability reporting, business sustainability, ESG integration, corporate governance, and IFRS-based financial reporting. Her research explores how sustainability disclosure frameworks, governance practices, and sustainability-oriented business strategies can enhance transparency, accountability, and long-term organisational performance, particularly within SMEs in the UK and emerging economies. 

She is also interested in the evolving role of Financial technology in accounting and reporting systems in supporting responsible business practice, sustainable development, and long-term value creation.
