Academic Biography

Begum joined Healthcare Innovation Centre (HIC) -collaboration between Teesside University and TWI-  as a Research Associate after completing her PhD in Loughborough University (Mechanical Engineering). She is already working on biomechanical models for bespoke prosthetic design as a part of H2020 funded SocketSense project: advanced sensor-based design and development of wearable prosthetic socket for amputees. Her research background includes musculoskeletal tissue mechanics, computational models in biomechanics and biomedical applications, wound healing and medical device technologies for wound care, and characterisation of biomaterials and tissues.
