Academic Biography
Bethany Wetherell is currently undertaking her PhD in Psychology at Teesside University, having begun her studies in December 2020. Her PhD project is being completed under the supervision of Dr Katherine Swainston, Dr Helen Limbrick and Dr Jeanet Ingwersen. Her PhD is focused on the experiences of women who have a long-term health concern which came as a result of a previous pre-eclampsia diagnosis. This study is building upon the back of her MSc Health Psychology dissertation looking into the post-natal experiences of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia.
Summary of Research Interests
Bethany has a research interest in the psychology of women's reproductive health and pregnacy. Bethany's research interests also take a qualitative approach having conducted qualitative dissertations at both undergraduate (Grounded Theory) and masters level (Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis).
