Academic Biography

Carol has an MSc in Social Science Research Methods and a PhD in Social Policy which explored forms of accountability in training programmes for young people disengaged from education, employment and training using visual research methods. 

Carol teaches on the undergraduate Criminology and Sociology degree programmes, Masters of Public Administration (MPA) and MSc in Social Research Methods.  

She has over twelve years’ experience as a researcher in Higher Education Institutions working closely with public and voluntary sector organisations to deliver research projects. Carol has experience of successfully completing qualitative, quantitative and mixed-methods research and evaluation projects in the fields of social policy, health, education, youth work, regeneration, international migration and access to services for specific groups. 

Carol has also worked in a learning and development position in a large NHS Trust adding to her knowledge and understanding of public sector delivery and in an information governance role in a Higher Education Institution.
