Academic Biography

Carrie Le joined the university in 2017, having previously worked as senior concept artist and art director in games and animation industry for over 6 years. Her former duties included producing concept art, illustrations and Matte Paintings on titles including Call of Duty: Heroes, Cloudbuilt, Dragon Nest: Warriors' Dawn, Thunderstone (card game) among many more. During her career, she has worked for over 20 projects for clients including: Square Enix, Shanghai Natural History Museum, Faceroll Games, Activision, Shanghai Media Group, Alderac Entertainment Group, Double Eleven, etc. She has been working as a senior concept art lecturer at IDMT in Shanghai, China from 2009 to 2012. Carrie graduated from Teesside University with a Distinction in MA Concept Art for Games and Animation in 2016 and she has now returned as a Lecturer in Concept Art where she teaches on drawing and concept art modules for Foundation, Undergraduate and Postgraduate students. She is keen on ensuring her students leave the University with the skills that industry are looking for.
