Catherine is a Senior lecturer in Games Art and Design, with a wealth of experience creating immersive experiences in VR and training software across many sectors, including Advertising, Architecture, Heritage and Education.
Catherine was Lead Technical Artist Real-time VR at MPC, working with high profile clients on Multi-award winning projects such as the John Lewis’s Christmas campaign, that won most notably Creative Circle, Gold - Best innovation/use of new tech, as well as, British Arrows Craft, Silver - Best VR/360. Catherine was also lead on VR ArchVis for stakeholder decision making for Adidas HQ’s new World of Sport in Germany.
Additional to freelance work Catherine has worked across MUSE, IRIS, CEEDS FP7 research projects for 3 years embedded within the IVE Lab at Teesside University, providing insight and content for interactive storytelling driven by the teams AI and planning research, giving her a passion for storytelling, engagement and pushing the boundaries using cutting edge immersive technologies.
Currently Catherine is working as a lecturer and with the NHS researching VR to create engaging training that will aid in confidence and retention of knowledge. This has created interesting areas for research into user experience, interaction and evaluation of its effectiveness to create real world impact.
Catherine is looking forward to many potential research oppertunities in technical art and supporting projects requiring real time prefereably with real world outputs and impact.
