Academic Biography

Chris is a senior lecturer in Secondary, Emergency and Urgent Care with over two decades of military nursing experience. His clinical expertise spans emergency medicine, pre-hospital care and clinical development. Chris' research interests focus on burnout, emotional labour and the lived experience of practioners. Drawing on 21 years of nursing in high pressure environments, Chris brings a unique perspective to both teaching and research, fostering resilience and reflective practice in healthcare education. 

Summary of Research Interests

Chris' research interests lie within the area of practitioner experience with a particular focus on resilience, emotional labour and burnout. He has published several papers related to these phenomena and continues to examine the lived experience of clinicians in practice. Primarily a qualitative researcher, Chris specialises in Interpretative Phenomenolgy and is always keen to explore ways in which we can understand and explore the lived experience of clinicians.
