Academic Biography

Chulin graduated with a BEng in Mechanical Engineering from Teesside University, followed by an MSc in Mechanical Engineering Design and PhD in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Manchester.

Before joining Teesside University, Chulin worked as a Scientific Officer in the school of mechanical and design engineering (SMDE) at the University of Portsmouth. She joined the school with teaching and research responsibilities. She was also an active research member in the Advanced Materials and Manufacturing (AMM) research group. She involved in Interreg FLOWER project and SeaBioComp both funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Her main research interest is the development of sustainable bio-based lightweight composite materials and hybrid composites, investigating their mechanical, thermal and environmental properties for engineering applications.
