Academic Biography

Clare is Associate Dean, Learning and Teaching in the School of Arts and Creative Industries. Clare is an experienced academic and professional with a background in newspaper and magazine publishing, digital business development and online brand and audience development. Having held strategic leadership roles at major UK media organisations such as EMAP (now Bauer Media) and Trinity Mirror (now Reach PLC), Clare has contributed to shaping, leading and implementing digital strategies and developing digital brands. 

Clare has lectured in media, digital communication, and journalism at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Combining 15 years of industry experience with academia.

In addition to teaching, Clare has experience in academic leadership roles,  leading curriculum development and course design with key areas of interest in student employability, digital literacy, and interdisciplinary creative education, preparing students for careers across the creative industries.
