Current role:
In her current role as Midwifery a lecturer, Debbie is course leader for the MSc in Midwifery and module leader for the Pathophysiology, year 3 Practice and Leadership modules on the BSc Midwifery course.
Research interests:
Debbie's research interests include labour ward management and leadership. Her PhD thesis "What makes an excellent Delivery Suite Coordinator? Views of the Multidisciplinary Team, a constructivist grouned theory study" examines the attributes of coordinators from the MDT's perpective and the impact the role plays on intrapartum safety and staffs' ability to fulfil their role to the best of their ability.
Previous roles:
Prior to joining the University as lecturer, she held management roles in the NHS as a Head of Midwifery, Director of Nursing for the CCG and Divisional Manager for Women’s, Children’s & Sexual health Services.
Debbie has also held clinical midwifery roles in the community, hospital and neonatal setting in various maternity units in the UK and abroad.
