Academic Biography
My area of research is based upon the study of transporter proteins. I have developed a novel methodology for the study of such proteins and the molecules they transport, utilising labelling techniques detectable by Raman spectroscopy. I have more general expertise in the areas of recombinant dna technology for the expression of recombinant proteins in heterologous hosts, with experience in eukaryotic membrane proteins. I also have an interest in the use of tardigrades as model organisms. I currently teach on topics of biotherapeutics and biochemistry.
