Academic Biography

Elizabeth Idowu is a Lecturer in Business at Teesside University International Business School.  She teaches a number of modules within the Leadership & Human Resources team, having taught modules across all apprenticeship pathways offered within the School, as well as Human Resource, Innovation and Sustainability modules.

Prior to coming to Teesside University Elizabeth worked primarily in the third sector, with over 15 years experience working in supported housing,  and domestic abuse.  More recently Elizabeth has worked as Business Development Manager for a successful Biotech business based in Newcastle.

Elizabeth is currently undertaking a Doctorate in Business Administration at Teesside University, and her research is focussed on Small and Medium Enterprises based in the North East of England, and their understanding and approach to sustainability.

In addition she has 20 years Non-Executive experience supporting a charity working with destitute asylum seekers, as well as a Trustee for her local church, member of a School Improvement Board, and Chair of a large North East Swimming Club.
