Academic Biography
Emily is one of TU's Student Success Tutors for Academic Writing. She has worked as a lecturer in English Composition and managed the Writing Resource Laboratory at her former institution. During her MA in Applied Linguistics, Emily focussed on the intersection of language and social justice, particularly in a higher education context. To this end, she has volunteered for Cara Syria as an EAP tutor and Academic Development contributor and is on the executive committee of BALEAP's Academic Literacies Special Interest Group. She is also an active member of TU's LGBTQ+ Focus Group. Both inside and outside of the workplace, EDI is Emily's driving motivation, as reflected by her current position and volunteering activities.
