Academic Biography
Emma studied her law degree at Teesside University and qualified as a Solicitor in 2010. Emma practised family law on Teesside working in both private practice and local authority until 2021when she left practice to pursue a lifelong ambition of teaching law.
Emma now works at Teesside University where she teaches on both undergraduate and postgraduate law courses and supervises students in the award winning Law Clinic.
Emma has created two new courses, and leads on both the new Solicitor Apprenticeship course and the LLM Legal Practice.
Recently, Emma has set up a court support service at the family court in Teesside supporting students to offer support and guidance to litigants in person in private family law proceedings which gives students invaluable experience together with supporting those who need it most.
