Femi Waters-Ajisafe is a senior lecturer in marketing and corporate programmes in Teesside University Business School, with a specialisation in strategic marketing and consumer behaviour. Femi teaches on undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, and contributed to the development and delivery of the award winning Leadership and Management programme designed for corporate delegates.
Femi has a passion for widening participation and raising academic and professional aspirations, which is reflected in her personable and enthusiastic approach.
She is a teaching fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a member of the Academy of Marketing.
Her research interests include consumer behaviour and strategic marketing. More specifically, Femi is in the final stages of her doctoral degree at Durham University where her research theorises moral psychology in which to extend self-theory models used in consumer behaviour research.
In addition to her role as a lecturer at Teesside University, Femi has considerable industrial experience in sales, key account management, business development, and marketing consultancy.
Her industrial experience coupled with her academic knowledge has enabled Femi to participate in the University’s Knowledge Exchange initiative in partnership with local SME’s. Within this role Femi has worked with a number of marketing and business graduates to develop strategic marketing plans and business development strategies in line with their organisations growth agenda.
