Academic Biography

Dr Gareth David Addidle is a Senior Lecturer in Policing at Teesside University, where he teaches on the undergraduate and postgraduate Policing, Law and Criminology programmes.  He is the Programme Leader for the MSc Evidence based Policing and MSc Criminal Investigation postgraduate degrees and is a Teaching Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.  A graduate of Glasgow Caledonian University, Doctorate from Plymouth University and previous academic roles at Open University, Plymouth University and the University of Derby.  His research and publications are in the areas of Vulnerability, policing, governance, community safety and partnership working.  Dr Addidle has worked with a number of police services across the UK and has been involved in research projects with Police Scotland (formerly Strathclyde Police), Devon and Cornwall Police, HMIC and, more recently, with the Newcastle Business School.
