Academic Biography

Dr Gbemisola Ogbolu is a Senior Lecturer in Business in the Department of Leadership, Management & Human Resources at Teesside University International Business School. Dr Ogbolu has extensive experience in teaching, research, and industry. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), Certified Management & Business Educator (CMBE) and a Chartered Manager (CMgr MCMI). Gbemisola has a PhD in Entrepreneurship Innovation, and Strategy from Northumbria University Business School. She holds an MSc in Information Technology Management (University of Sunderland), Bsc (Hons) in Applied Business Computing (University of Sunderland) and a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert.) in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (Teesside University).

Before becoming an academic, Gbemisola spent over 12 years in the industry where she held management positions in different roles such as Business Analyst, Information Technology Specialist, Senior Financial Analyst, and Project Manager. Dr Ogbolu managed over 100 portfolios of small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Gbemisola’s research interests cover several fields across Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Strategy- including sustainable entrepreneurship, SMEs performance, social value, leading and managing change, decision-making processes, and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
