Academic Biography

Dr. Geetika Aggarwal is a  'Lecturer'  at the Department of Engineering, in the School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies. Her Teaching responsibilities are across all years, covering the modules: Sustainable Systems and Industry 4.0, Sustainability, Robust Control Systems (RCS), Digital Control and Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Embedded Systems, Linear Systems and Control, Electronic Principles, Instrumentation and Design Implementation. She has also, been nominated in the category of 'Outstanding Teaching' at the 'Star Awards' 2024.

Prior to joining, 'Teesside University' Dr Geetika, has worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher (Nov 2019 - Oct 2022) at 'Nottingham Trent University', England, UK on Horizon 2020 cleansky EU project involving Instrumentation and Control, Digital Signal Processing, Data Aquisition, Virtual Reality, and Artificial Intelligence through MATLAB/SIMULINK, LabVIEW, Embedded Systems, Audacity, Adobe Audition, Fusion 360.  Additionally, Dr Geetika has also worked on projects listed below:

  • Robotic Arm: PCB Design-KICAD, EAGLE, ORCAD. Electronics and Embedded Systems: Real-time system prototypes.
  • Sustainable Aircraft Cabin Design: Noise and Vibration
  • Vehicle Occupant Perception: Aircraft Environments. Design for Future ultra Low carbon Travel
  • Modelling Human Comfort: Performance and Optimization of comfort in extreme environments
  • Smart Wearable: Non-Invasive FECG monitoring

Dr Geetika completed her PhD in Electronics Engineering at Northumbria University, Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UK (Oct 2015- Oct 2019), where she designed a real time wireless communication system for Electroencephalography (EEG) monitoring. She was nominated for ‘Best Postgraduate who Teaches’ in the 2018 Student Led Teaching Awards. Dr Geetika has also worked as a part time Tutor/Asssitant Lecturer/Lab Demonstrator at Northumbria University, and have won the ‘Outstanding Staff Member Award 2019’ in the 'Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering' at the 'Faculty of Engineering and Environment'. 

Dr Geetika is a 'Fellow of Higher Education Academy' (FHEA), member of 'Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers' (IEEE) and 'Institute of Engineering and Technology' (IET) in addition to the 'Executive Committee Member' of IET Teesside Local Network.
