Academic Biography
Geoff is a lecturer in occupational therapy across all programmes, course lead for the Bsc (hons) occupational therapy apprenticeship programme, practice placement lead coordinator across all the occupational therapy programmes and module lead on several modules.
Geoff was a former student at Teesside University and qualified in 2010. Geoff has worked in numerous clinical areas such as housing, social care, stroke rehabilitation, general medicine and safeguarding. Geoff has an expertise in housing and social care and project lead in 2013 on the implementation of a social housing occupational therapy service in a local authority. The service is now embedded in the local authorities social care services.
Geoff also has a keen interest in capacity and deprivation of liberty, he is a qualified best interest assessor and is keen to continue to pursue this area.
Geoff teaches across several topics such as professional practice, practice placement preparation, inclusivity and professional body guidance.
