Academic Biography
Gillian joined the School of Health in May 2015 to start work on her PhD full time. Her PhD is entitled ‘Exploring the factors affecting the implementation of tobacco and substance use interventions within the secondary school setting’ and was funded via Fuse.
Following the submission of her PhD thesis, Gillian is now a Research Associate in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law. Her main role is being the North East Lead for the RISKIT-CJS trial, which is exploring interventions for risky substance use in young people within the criminial justice system. She also provides support to other areas of research, mainly around public health evaluations.
