Academic Biography
Harriet Beadnell is a Student Success Tutor in the Student Learning & Academic Registry's Student Success Team. She provides bespoke, 1:1 mentoring to students in areas such as time management, confidence building and in academic and writing skills.
Before commencing her current role, Harriet worked as a Student Outcomes Coordinator (Academic Engagement) at Durham University International Study Centre. She provided specialist mentoring support to international students undertaking their foundation year programme in preparation for Durham University. Previous roles have included: training as a secondary school teacher, private tutoring and working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the history department at the University of York.
Harriet holds a PhD in History from the University of York. Her doctorate was funded by the White Rose College of the Arts and Humanities (WRoCAH). Harriet's research interests include: warfare and memory, veterans, gerontology, identity and material culture.
