Enterprise Interest and Activities

Corporate Governance is key to companies responding to the challenges of a rapidly changing business world, enabling sustainable growth in the long term, while maintaining stakeholder confidence. My approach looks at the relationship between corporate governance, corporate entrepreneurship and firm efficiency. Combining advanced auditing and management accounting practices, I offer in-depth diagnosis of organisation’s themselves and in relation to their sector/competitors to define and implement relevant best practice.

For organically grown and fast scale-up businesses in particular I offer the opportunity to take stock, examine and optimise a company’s governance arrangements. Specifically, this could include one or more of the following:

-       Exploring key governance frameworks, approaches and guidelines

-       Diagnosing the suitability of existing board structures/arrangements/activities/reporting and disclosure requirements

-       Understanding optimum formal board structures for individual businesses

-       Defining the most effective roles and responsibilities for board members

-       Clarifying non-executive’s roles/input to maximise impact

-       Identifying key business risks and initiating appropriate processes for approvals and escalation to manage these

-       Considering an individual company’s corporate social responsibility

-       Confirming key legislation and adherence required for an individual company/sector
(e.g. Ethics of AI –Adherence, establishing rules/procedures and establishing skills/procedures to manage risks associated with this)

-       Advanced analytical research to compare sectors/competitors to identify areas for improvements

-       Exploring the definitions and differences between good and bad governance practice

-       Offering practical advice on best practice to meet both organisation and stakeholder expectations

-       Identifying key areas for in-depth expertise in order to underpin any of the above (e.g. AI or legal specialists)
