Academic Biography

Xihui is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance at Teesside University Business School. She joined Teesside in 2019 after completing her PhD in Corporate Governance from Nottingham Trent University. Her PhD research looks at the relationship between corporate governance, corporate entrepreneurship, and firm performance amongst Chinese listed firms.

Xihui was awarded Nottingham Trent University Vice-Chancellor Scholarship for her PhD. She was awarded the Highly Commended International Student of the Year in 2013 by the UK Council for International Students, and the National Union of Students (NUS) for outstanding performance in extracurricular activities as well as contribution at the Univeresity of Northampton and local community. She was the 2013-2014 President of Students’ Union at the University of Northampton and the Internationalisation Ambassador for Shaoguan University, P.R. China.

Learning and Teaching Interests and Activities

Xihui is currently teaching on undergraduate modules in 

  • Advanced Auditing; 
  • Business Finance; 
  • Introduction to Management Accounting; 
  • Project and Operations Management; 
  • Sports Business Finance (Module Leader). 

Xihui also supervises final year undergraduate dissertation projects and DBA student theses.
