Dr Dawood is currently is working on three projects including the following:

  •  inteGRIDy H2020 European Projects, where she is a work package leader and task leader to “Abidance to regulation for Privacy & Cyber Security, Open Data policy & data management plan”, “Overall Evaluation of inteGRIDy Framework & Tools Performance” & “Cost Benefit/ Cost Efficiency Analysis & Environmental Impact Assessment”
  • SMEmPower Effeciency (A holistic framework for Empowering SME’s capacity to increase their energy efficiency) working on various WPs including course development of new course on Efficiency and sustainability, training and certification.
  • Transforming Construction Network Plus, Economic and Social Council, 2 Putting people at the heart of future social housing design and manufacture” as a co- investigator.

Academic Responsibilities

Dr Dawood lectures in Engineering Mathematics to first year engineering students, Plant and Process Monitoring to MEng Chemical engineering students,  Mathematical Modelling Application to final year Mathematics, Engineering Projects to MSc and undergraduate students and is a supervisor to 7 PhD students.

External Roles and Professional Activities

Dr Huda Dawood is Teesside University representatives on "The Northern Power" project which is funded by the EPSRC under its Inclusion Matters initiative to improve equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) within Engineering and the Physical Sciences (EPS). The project is aimed at supporting early career researchers from traditionally under-represented groups (e.g. gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, disability). She is also a member of the SCEDT Athena Swan subgroup and co-leading on the career progression for fixed RAs agenda.
