Academic Biography
Dr Jakia Rajoana is a Senior Lecturer in Business at Teesside University International Business School. Prior to joining Teesside University, Jakia was working as an Associate Lecturer in Tourism and Events at Sunderland University. She has a PhD in Management and has extensive experience working with rural community development and sustainable rural tourism development.
Her current research is focusing on women entrepreneurship, Sustainable Tourism, Rural Tourism and women empowerment especially vulnerable women like tiger widows, widows, divorced women as well indigenous and Refugee women from the developing country context. Jakia has a track record of presenting at various prestigious conferences as well as publishing in an ABS-ranking journal.
