Academic Biography

I re-joined Teesside University as a Senior Lecturer in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in 2024, having previously worked here as a Lecturer in Leadership and Quality Improvement.

Prior to working with the university, I have worked as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN) based in Kent and Essex, within both inpatient and community nursing working across the lifespan.

I am an Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist having worked in services both in Essex and In North Yorkshire, where I was a therapist and Team Manager within an IAPT (NHS Talking Therapies) service.  I am also trained in EMDR and ACT Therapy.  I have also worked as a Senior Psychological Therapist within a Medical Psychology service locally.

I continue to practice as a Cognitive Behavioural therapist.

My current role as Senior Lecturer at Teesside University is primarily focused around the delivery of the Pg Dip CBT Programme which involves training High intensity CBT therapists.
