Academic Biography
I am a Senior Lecturer in Adult Nursing registered with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) as an Registered Nurse Adult Field. I commenced working at Teesside University in November 2014 and have performed many roles in this time, for example Module Tutor, Admissions Tutor, Field Leader, Module Leader, Academic Assessor, and Course Leader.
My nursing background is predominantly surgical, I worked in an acute hospital in colorectal, breast care, vascular, and gynaecology specialities. I progressed to Practice- Development Nurse, was seconded to Clinical Standards Sister and then progressed further to Senior Nurse Preceptorship Lead where I developed and delivered an educational and clinical service for all preceptees in the Trust supporting Nurses, Midwives, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians and Operating Department Practitioners. I worked Trust wide in acute and community services throughout County Durham and Darlington.
