Academic Biography
Dr Jayne Finch is an HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist. Jayne completed her undergraduate degree in psychology at The University of York in 2002 and went on to qualify as a Clinical Psychologist from Teesside University in 2007.
Following qualification Jayne specialised in working as a Clinical Psychologist within community based, secondary care adult mental health settings and went on to complete her postgraduate diploma in Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) with Sheffield Hallam in 2013. She also has post qualification training in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Compassion Focussed Therapy (CFT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR).
Jayne currently works part time for the NHS in a strategic role across the Tees Valley, collaborating with 3rd sector services to improve community provision of mental health care. Jayne has interests in mindfulness, Cognitive Analytic Therapy and trauma informed care/systems. She was appointed as a senior lecturer on the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Teesside University in February 2021. As well as a core clinical tutor role, Jayne is a module leader and supervises several doctoral theses.
