Jayne is the programme leader for the MA Education, the MA Applied Education Leadership and the Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education, she is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and a University Teaching Fellow. She was a mature student and graduated from Teesside University with a degree in Psychology, then studied for her MSc Social Research Methods while working at two Sure Start initiatives. She worked in a central department, now the Learning and Teaching Enhancement department in Academic Registry, where she developed the University’s Research Informed Teaching policy and has taught in both the Psychology and Education sections in the School of Social Sciences, Business and Law. She has also been involved in staff development initiatives for the University, including enhancing Research Informed Teaching activities and mentoring applicants to HEA Fellowship.
Summary of Research Interests
Jayne is currently working on a Doctorate in Education and her research interests focus around the professional development of academic staff and postgraduate students’ experiences in Higher Education.
Enterprise Interest and Activities
Jayne and her colleague in the Education Department Rose Envy developed the MA Applied Education Leadership in conjunction with Hartlepool Education Partnership to address the learning and development needs of their middle to senior leaders in education.
