Academic Biography

Jen is a senior lecturer in optometry. She qualified as an optometrist in 2001 and has worked in both high street practices and in the hospital eye service.

Her PhD, completed in 2010, investigated the feasibility of screening for type 2 diabetes in optometry practices.

After completing her PhD, she worked at Durham University on a number of projects evaluating initiatives to improve the early detection of cancer in primary care.

She gained the PGCert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education in 2010 and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
