Academic Biography

I have a vast experience in IT Consultancy. I obtained my Master's degree in Computer Network and Security (2015), and a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering (2021). I am currently working as a Lecture in Computer Science at Teesside University.  My research interest is focused on IoT, wireless sensor networks, data capture and monitoring, digital twinning, industrial digitalisation, and End-to-End development solutions.

Within the University, I am also an Innovation Technician (Cyber-Physical Systems) at the Industrial Digitalisation Technology Centre (IDTC), and my role is centred on using IoT-linked (smart) devices to assist SMEs across Tees Valley to digitalise and upscale their business from industry 2.0 to industry 4.0.

Alongside lecturing, I am involved in a number of externally funded projects including - The Principal Investigator (PI) for OptiWare (Optimisation of Port Warehousing Compliance with Non-Intrusive Methods and Generative AI) – an Innovate UK funded project, a Co-Investigator (Co-I) to Physical assuRance fOr diGital tRadE SyStems (PROGRESS) project, and Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project supervisor, and have received further funding towards research and Innovation awards totalling over £600,000 — All collaborative projects with businesses and supporting the use of technology and innovation in business or processes.
