Personal profile

Academic Biography

I am a HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with a professional background in paediatrics and special interest in neonatal care. My research interests are also aligned to these fields. I have a particular interest in premature labour and birth following my own personal lived experience and prior professional work.

As an Occupational Therapist I am trained in Brazelton Newborn Behavioural Observations (NBO), Trauma Informed Professional Certified (TIP), Kinesio Taping levels 1 and 2, Rhythmic Movement Training (RMT) levels 1 and 2, FINE level 1, Sensory Integration (SI) level 1 and The Listening Programme (TLP). I have also undertaken neonatal training by Sensory Babies (sensory beginnings) and the Caring Essentials Collaborative.

I have experience of scoping reviews, Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA), service evaluation (Donabedian Model), thematic analysis and online surveys. I am interested in creative methods and have incorporated photoelicitation and the use of diaries as part of IPA research projects.

I also have an interest in creative dissemination methods as I am dual trained in the creative arts (photography/videography specialism) and I am a co-director of a creative business in this field.

Education/Academic qualification
