Academic Biography
Katie is a lecturer in occupational therapy and joined the team in October 2008. She qualified in 2002 after studying at Teesside.
Katie has worked in both physical and mental health teams, mostly throughout her career in community adult mental health services, experiencing a vast range of both one to one, group work and carer support services.
Her experiences also include working with others in developing user led community projects. She has also worked in an eating disorders team, an area of particular interest to her and she continues to research the work of occupational therapists with people experiencing eating disorders.
Other interests include research on exercise and mental health and complementary healthcare. Katie teaches on both the undergraduate BSc and MSc programmes.
