Academic Biography

Lesley Smitheringale CIMA Adv Dip MA, BA (hons), MA, FHEA, is currently Principle Lecturer (Learning and Teaching) in Teesside University International Business School (TUIBS) and has been in post for almost 4 years. She was previously Principle Lecturer (Staffing and Resources) for 3 years and prior to that Senior Lecturer Accounting and Finance.

 

 

Enterprise Interest and Activities

Lesley previously worked as part of the Educational Partnerships team as College Partnerships Manager where she worked with FE partners and employers to develop new courses and bespoke short programmes to meet employer needs. She was also responsible for quality assurance of partnership provison and any CPD requirements and managed the Educational Partnerships budget.  

Academic Responsibilities

Lesley is an experienced member of the Finance Performance and Marketing (FPM) Department. Her teaching is mainly focussed on management and financial accounting, and personal and professional development on both Apprenticeship courses and undergraduate and postgraduate professionally accredited courses. As Principal Lecturer Learning and Teaching for Teesside University International Business School, she is responsible for new staff induction, personal tutoring, the Student Voice, and much CPD related to learning, teaching and assessment. She is also currently acting Principal Lecturer for Staffing and Resources for the FPM Department where she is responsible for the allocation and workloading of staff to the delivery and assessment of modules, course and module leadership, dissertation supervision and personal tutoring.
