I am a current doctoral researcher here at Teesside University, having previously studied here, receiving a BA in English Studies. I completed an MA in Romantic and Victorian Literature at the University of Durham in 2015. My broad interests are in Black intellectual thought and attendant representations of it and also fin-de-siècle literature.
My thesis focusses on the global perspectives of contemporary representations of the nineteenth century. In this context I am interested in exploring 'intimate encounters', particularly in the intersection between the bodies of neoslave and neo-Victorian studies.
