I am a dual qualified Registered Sick Children’s nurse and Registered Nurse with a MSc in public health, BSc (hons) Children’s Community Nursing degree and specialist practitioner award. I have cared for children with a wide range of acute, long term, life limiting and complex health needs and previously worked for 4 years as a Cystic Fibrosis Nurse Specialist followed by 2 years as a Community Children’s Nurse providing an outreach service. Since working at Teesside University I have also completed a PGCLTHE, the Nurse Prescribing V100 course and become a registered Nurse Tutor. My strengths include being resilient and flexible with a wide ranging teaching and clinical experience across all fields and I remain committed to providing high quality care for all children.

In order to teach children’s nursing students I have updated clinical skills in assessment of the acutely ill child, enteral feeding, tracheostomy care, manual handling, BLS and recently the level 3 safeguarding course. My role currently includes working with service users from all age ranges and with wide ranging health care needs. My research interests are related to the patient expereince and student support.
