Academic Biography
Lucy is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at Teesside University within the School of Health and Life Sciences. Lucy has a diverse background in both academia and clinical practice particularly in the field of Neurology and Neurological Rehabilitation. With 16 years of experience working in the NHS, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Her work focuses on enhancing the curriculum by integrating real-life clinical experiences and collaborative efforts with both clinicians and service users. This approach aims to ensure learners receive authentic learning experiences but also aligns educational content with current clinical practices, particularly in the areas of Neurological Rehabilitation.
As part of the physiotherapy team, Lucy has experience working as Placement Education Lead and BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy Course Leader Year 1. Lucy leads modules across the BSc, BSc Apprenticeship and FdSc Health and Social Care (Assistant Practitioner) courses.
Lucy is a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and holds Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a physiotherapist.
