Academic Biography

Marina Ayurova is a lecturer in Digital Innovation at Teesside University International Business School. Before that, she also taught as a Part-Time lecturer.

She teaches various modules related to business digitalization such as Digital Skills for Business, Global Digital Business, Building an eCommerce Business, etc. All these modules have been designed to equip students with an outstanding digital strategy to grow their own business through the utilisation of a variety of digital tools and business software packages as well as develop eCommerce websites. Lectures and seminars are more practical, and all teaching is done in the lab. In addition to digital modules, Marina also teaches Postgraduate Business Research Methods and supervise MSc and MBA students’ dissertations.

Before becoming an academic, Marina spent over 10 years in the international business sector where she held senior positions as a Business Development Manager and Project Manager. She has experience in international trade, business consulting, IT and has liaised with Chinese, Turkish and Russian entrepreneurs. Under her leadership, one of the project orders was increased from $100,000 to a total of $1,000,000.
