Academic Biography
Dr Wang is a Lecturer of Bioinformatics in the School of Health and Life Sciences.
She received a master's degree in agriculture from Lanzhou University in China in 2018. Afterward, she participated in the Ph.D. project ‘High-dimensional multi-omics data integrative analysis of the rumen microbiome associated with bovine methane emission phenotype’ jointly funded by Ulster University and SRUC. She was awarded a Ph.D. in Computer Science by the Ulster University in 2023. Before join Teesside university she worked in BT Ireland Innovation Centre and Ulster University School of Computing.
Summary of Research Interests
My current research interests include multi-omics data analysis, bioinformatics algorithm development, and microbiome data mining.
Learning and Teaching Interests and Activities
Dr. Wang is currently the lecturer in Bioinformatics, course leader for the M.Sc. Bioinformatics and the module leader for module 'Python for Bioinformatics' and 'Data Analytics'.
