Academic Biography

Michael is a Senior Lecturer in Business at Teesside University International Business School and principally teaches across operations management, project management and supply chain management disciplines. Michael has worked in higher education since 2013 and has spent the past 5 years here at Teesside University. 

Michael holds his Advance HE Fellow FHEA membership, and has significant experience working across a range of academic contexts, with a growing focus on degree apprenticeships.

Michael was awarded his PhD in 2019 "Investigating Management Practices and their Impact on Social Value Creation: A Case Study of Social Enterprises in North East England" which focussed on quality management practices and social impact generation. and has also been involved with a number of small projects surrounding food redistribution, supply chain risk mitigation and carbon footprinting in short chain supply chains. His current research focus is on food redistribution and food waste reduction alongside continuous improvement and lean practice implementation within small third sector organisations.
