Academic Biography

Dr Mina Najafi is a researcher at the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law at Teesside University. She has a PhD in Architectural studies and focuses on Environmental phycology. As a place-based researcher, she published one book and five journal articles indexed by Thomson ISI and Scopus in place-based research. She is interested in people/users' behaviours, perceptions, needs, and sustainable development in built and natural environments. She developed many skills suitable for her research, e.g., Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), methods for in-depth interviews, qualitative data analysis (QSR NVIVO), qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, and various IT/ICT skills. Currently, she is working on a Horizon 2020 project called "Renewable Energy for self-sustainable island communities" (REACT). She works with her colleagues on sustainability regarding the socio-economic aspects of clean energy. In addition, she is the Editorial Assistant for the Smart and Sustainable Built Environment Journal (SASBE).
