Academic Profile

Mohamed Elheddad has over ten years of national and international teaching and research experience in academic business and economics programs at higher/further education institutions in the UK and internationally. Mohamed joined Teesside University in March 2022 as senior Lecturer in Economics. 

Before that Dr. Elheddad was a lecturer of International Business at the University of Huddersfield. Mohamed has previously held lectureship posts in business economics at Misurata University/Libya (2006 – 2014), a Ph.D. researcher at the University of Hull/UK (November 2014 – June 2019) and worked as Lecturer and Programme Manager (Foundation level) in Business studies Scholars School System University College Centre- in partnership with Leeds Trinity University during (July 2019- February 2021). Also, he was a visiting lecturer in the Finance Department at the University of Buckingham (2018- 2021); and a Tutor at the University of Hull (2018-2019).  He has a Ph.D. in International Economics from the University of Hull (UK) and is greatly interested in the areas of International Economics and Business, and development economics. In particular, environmental economics, energy economics, international finance and FDI in natural resource-rich economies, and sustainability.

Besides, Mohamed was awarded his Fellowship in the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in 2020.

Dr. Elheddad is an active researcher and has published in several reputable journals in the last few years. Dr Elhedadd is also involved in the research supervision of master and doctoral-level students. Dr. Elhedadd demonstrates a strong commitment to innovative pedagogy, enterprise, research-informed teaching, and productive collaborative research.

International Economics and Business; and development economics. In particular, environmental economics, energy economics, international finance in natural resource-rich economies and sustainability. My expertise concentrated on quantitative methods.
