Academic Biography
Dr. Mudassar Hasan has over 11 years of experience in teaching, research, and leadership in academia. He completed his Ph.D. (Finance) from the School of Economics & Finance, Massey University, New Zealand. Dr. Hasan is the 2020 Recipient of Dean's List of Exceptional Doctoral Theses for his doctoral research titled "Essays on Spillover Effects of Economic and Geopolitical Uncertainty". He was also awarded a Gold Medal for his M.Phil. (Finance) at Lahore Business School, The University of Lahore, Pakistan.
Before joining Teesside University International Business School (TUIBS), Teesside University, he worked at Lahore Business School, The University of Lahore, Pakistan, where he headed the cluster of accounting and finance during 2014-2016 and faciltated most of the modules of accounting and finance. Dr. Hasan also served as a Contract Lecturer and a Research Associate at the School of Economics and Finance, Massey University, New Zealand during 2016 and 2020.
Research Interests and Scholarly Activity
Dr Hasan' scholarly interests revolve around energy finance, green finance, economic and geopolitical uncertainties, financial economics, cryptocurrencies, and tourism economics.
Dr. Hasan has extensive research experience. He has attended several domestic and international conferences, and published consistently in ABS ranked journals including:

Currently, Dr. Hasan is also serving as Managing Editor of the Asian Finance Research Journal (AFRJ), a journal which, under his leadership, secured regonition in "Y-Category" and funding by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan.
Teaching and Learning Engagment
Dr. Hasan is currently teaching on undergraduate and post-graduate modules in
- Business Finance;
- Financial Crime;
- Leadership & Business Performance;
- Managing Operations & Finance.
Dr. Hasan also supervises final year undergraduate and post-graduate dissertations, and DBA student theses.
He is also a personal tutor for post-graduate students.
