Academic Biography
Dr. Muhammad Imran Qureshi is a Senior Lecturer in Global Supply Chain Management at Teesside University International Business School. He earned his PhD in Management from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, where he was honoured with the Best Postgraduate Student Award (Gold Medal) for his dissertation on work design practices for sustainable manufacturing under sociotechnical contexts. Dr. Qureshi has held notable academic positions, including Senior Lecturer roles at Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka and the Malaysian Institute of Industrial Technology, University of Kuala Lumpur. He also served as the Founding Director of CONNECTING ASIA Sdn Bhd, promoting research and collaboration in the Asia-Pacific region.
Dr. Qureshi's research focuses on the integration of digitalisation and sustainability in manufacturing and business practices. He explores innovative solutions that leverage emerging technologies such as big data analytics, AI, and blockchain to enhance organisational performance and mitigate environmental impacts. His goal is to develop digital ecosystems that support sustainable growth and resilient supply chains. An active member of several professional associations, including the Mixed Method Research Association and the Chartered Management Institute, Dr. Qureshi has published 198 research articles, with over 6,300 citations, an h-index of 45, and an i10-index of 112. His work has been globally recognised, including being listed among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University.
In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, Dr. Qureshi holds various editorial roles, such as Associate Editor for the Foresight Journal and Editor in Chief for the Journal of Management Info. He is a sought-after keynote speaker at international conferences and has received multiple awards for his contributions to research and education. Dr. Qureshi has successfully secured several externally funded grants, including projects on digital manufacturing ecosystems, mitigating environmental emissions, and sustainable manufacturing practices. His commitment to advancing knowledge in sustainable supply chain management and digital business transformation positions him as a leading figure in his field, dedicated to fostering a more sustainable and technologically advanced industrial landscape.
