Academic and Research Biography:

Dr. Muhammad Shahbaz, currently serving as a Vice Chancellor’s Research Fellow at the Net Zero Industry Innovation Center, School of Computing, Engineering & Digital Technologies, Teesside University, Middlesbrough, UK. He have more than 12 year tecahing and reserach experince Sweden, Malayisa, Qatar, Pakistan and UK. He has completd his post doc training Hamad Bin Khalifa Univerisity, Qatar and work as a Lectuere in Univeristy of Gujrta Pakistan and Graduate reserach Assistant in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia. He is passionate about being an academician and researcher, dedicated to equipping students with the necessary skills in their professional domains and fostering continuous improvement to stay relevant with evolving professional tasks.

Course Taught:

He have taught major chemical engineering subjects including Chemical Reaction Engineering, Chemical Engineering Thermodynamics, Transport Phenomena, Renewable Energy Systems, and Sustainable Energy Processes..

Research Domain:

In the research domain, His interests and experience focus on net zero emission technologies such as green hydrogen production, sustainable thermochemical conversion processes (e.g., gasification, pyrolysis, combustion), CO2 capturing, and energy system process optimization. Additionally, he interested in innovative sustainable chemical process design, emphasizing sustainability and commercialization within the framework of the circular economy. He have extensive experience in both experimental research, from lab to pilot scale, and process modeling of thermochemical conversion processes.

Research Portfolio:

His primary research has been funded by various organizations, including REHIP (Research England UK), BIOCHAR, NPRP (Qatar), WGTP (Qatar Foundation), LRGS (University Teknologi PETRONAS, Malaysia), and KETHA (UTP, Malaysia) from 2014 to the present. He has more than 80 research publications in reputed journals and conferences, including 5 book chapters. My findings have been published in top-tier Q1 and Q2 journals, and has an H-Index of 35. He has received numerous academic and research accolades at various conferences and in the young scientist community. Additionally, he has served as a guest editor for prestigious journals such as Fuel and Discover Environment.
