Naomi is a Lecturer in Sport, Exercise and Nutrition in the School of Health and Life Sciences. She joined Teesside University in October 2016 as PhD candidate in Exercise and Health following the completion of Master of Science (MSc) in Physical Activity for Health from the University of Edinburgh. Prior to this Naomi completed a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Health Science (Nutrition) at Flinders University in Australia. Naomi completed her PhD and began her lecturing position in December 2019.
Her PhD research examined the feasibility and acceptability of high-intensity interval training interventions (or HIIT for short) delivered in the workplaces of employees in the Teesside area.
Aside from high-intensity interval training, Naomis' broad research interests include the development, delivery and evaluation of physical activity and nutrition programmes in community settings (such as workaplaces and schools), and the physiological and psychological impact of novel exercise strategies. Naomi has both qualitative and quantitative research expertise.
